v4 Stats - Advice/Feedback on which are more important

Postby dmpokerplayer » Fri Jul 20, 2007 8:18 pm

Guys,
I threw together this list of "Important Stats to Know About"
This is mostly so that newbies get a bit of direction on which stats to concentrate on first.

How about some feedback as to if you agree/disagree, think one/some shouldn't be on the list, others should be on the list, etc.
What are your thoughts?

VP$IP - Voluntarilly put money in pot. Primary preflop looseness stat.
PF-Raise - PreFlop Raise. Primary preflop aggressiveness stat.
PF-ColdCall - Call preflop raise. Describes looseness for calling preflop raises from position.
(FL-See) Aggr - Combined postflop aggressiveness from flop, turn, and river.
(FL-See) SD-See - % flops went to showdown (postflop looseness indicator).
(PF-Raise) W$SD - Win showdown % when he raises preflop.

FL-Aggr - General aggressiveness on the flop.
(PF-Raise) FL-Bet - Continuation bet % after preflop raising.
(FL-Bet) W$SD - Win showdown % when he bets on the flop.
(FL-Raise) W$SD - Win showdown % when he raises on the flop.

TU-Aggr - General aggressiveness on the turn.
(TU-Bet) W$SD - Win showdown % when he bets on the turn.
(TU-Raise) W$SD - Win showdown % when he raises on the turn.

RI-Aggr - General aggressiveness on the river.
(RI-Bet) W$SD - Win showdown % when he bets on the river.
(RI-Raise) W$SD - Win showdown % when he raises on the river.
W$SD - Overall combined win at showdown. Describes if winner/loser.

For cash games, include these in the list of more important stats

BB/100 - Big Bets Won/lost per every 100 cash hands. How he does over time.
Bottomline - Total amount of money won/lost in cash games.

For SNGs & Tourneys, include these in the list of more important stats

Steal Blind Attempt - How often he Raises as first in from Cutoff or Button.
Fold Sb to Steal - Folded Small Blind to a First-In Raise/Steal from Cutoff or Button
Fold Bb to Steal - Folded Small Blind to a First-In Raise/Steal from Cutoff or Button

The full list (of STATS) with formulas & definitions is located in the HowTo section at:

Important Stats ...

Postby TommyNY » Mon Jul 30, 2007 8:43 pm

Just signed up today and am a bit overwhelmed at having access to this much information.

Many thanks for "the list". I'll review it in the morning but I can already see it will help.

Again ... thanks!

This is some really. really useful information.

Now if I could only understand the meaning of those numbers better I'd be sold completely.

PE only displays the stats based on your filter settings. If you have filters set for tournaments, and play cash games, your info is wrong and useless. If you have your cash filters set between .05 and $640, you have no way of knowing how this player is at .50/1.00 because they are all grouped together as one stat. The proper setting for .50/1.00 NL would be NL between 1.00 and 1.00. This isolates the $1.00 big blind only and blocks out irrelevant information.

Thank you for the list. I am new to poker edge and without your list it was confusing. Before I saw your list I was using VP$IP and Bottom line, and a few others. But now with your list, I am gonna learn more alot faster.
Thank You

AFq stands for Aggression frequency...see the full description in the link below.

There is also a four-bet stat in V5 as well.

AFq and 4Bet are PEv5 stats. But this thread is just about PEv4.
